The Irishman is in the prime of his playing career, with his most recent big hit having been the recent release of the first Irish rugby film, The Ballad of Bailie.
The star has already had two films produced in recent years and has also made a series of films for television, including a television series called The Ballads of John, which aired in 2014.
Bennett also produced the first series of a live-action television show for the BBC, The Story of John.
He also starred in the hit film The Balladic Brothers, which is currently on its sixth series.
“I have a very specific vision and the characters are very specific,” Bennett said.
“You don’t find many people who can come to a theatre and say, ‘I want to do this’.
I’ve done a few, and it’s a very long journey.”
There’s a bit of a time lag, but it’s been a lot of fun.
I enjoy it and I’m enjoying it now.
“The Ballads has really taken off, and I’ve really been enjoying the success of it.”
If I don’t do another movie, I’m going to be really disappointed because the work is worth it.
